I thought I would share with you all a fun logo project I did recently for a start-up company called Whisk & Brush. Whisk & Brush will be a full-scale website of inspiration, tips, and news on all things food and art.
“Whisk + Brush will be a full scale website dedicated to bringing you daily inspiration for your creative & passionate life. On a regular basis you’ll be able to discover new endeavors, like recipes, cooking tips, farmers markets & restaurants both locally and far away. You’ll be able to read articles on up-and-coming artists, studio spaces, craft shows and festivals. Along with this great information, Whisk + Brush will also include products, all handcrafted and handmade by Whisk + Brush, like kitchen linens, notebooks, bags, home decor & art.”
The artist/ chief/ gardener extraordinaire behind W&B has a great vision for the site and working with her provided some great inspiration for where to take the project.
I started with sketches, but below are my initial concepts for the W&B logo. I don’t normally provide some many refined concepts, but I was on a roll and I felt they were all viable.
We had a tough time narrowing down the options, but we eventually landed on the two marks below. The first is an elegant solution comprised of an ampersand holding a whisk and a brush. It depicts the name without type, and provided lots of possibilities for applications.
However, after much consideration we decided to to go with the second version below as we felt it was important that the name be included since after all this was a start up. The result; an elegant, yet high-impact logo that works well paired with the artistic imagery the brand is built on. The secondary marks below have been used on various whisk and brush products.
You can learn more about Whisk & Brush, and help them succeed in their goal here. Your support is greatly appreciated!
Very creative with the ampersand! Can’t wait to check out Whisk & Brush!
Thank you, glad you like it!
