New branding system for Gorton Bros. Landscaping LLC. I was given free reign with this project, so I wanted to do something a little different. Doing a little benchmarking, I found that most logos and branding for landscapers were pretty awful. They mostly consisted of the obvious trees and leaves solution…you can see what I mean here. I thought it could be interesting to focus on the tools of the trade, rather then nature iconography. The mark below is a secondary logo used various situations as a brand mark.

For the logotype I chose a typeface called Ribbon, which is a great free font you can download here. I manipulated the type a bit to reference blades of grass.
